I love a good nap. I have often joked that I must have been a cat in another life because I love curling up in a pool of sunlight on my bed or couch and taking a snooze. Some people don’t like naps. I revel in them.
I was so sleepy working in my office today. I had an online meeting at 1:00pm and then headed home. My husband was working from home. He had picked up our grandson from school. When I walked in the door my grandson ran to welcome me. I asked him about his day and scooped him up.
I took him to his room saying it was time for a nap. He wasn’t happy about this but agreed once I told him he could watch one cartoon on my phone. When his show ended I cuddled him in my arms. I began singing Jingle Bells to him. Within a few minutes, I felt his little body relax into my lap and shoulder. I heard a soft snore. I felt his warmth in my arms. I leaned back in the rocker, closing my eyes.
I had the best of naps in the comfort of my little buddy’s soft hug. There was no place else I would rather be at that moment. He comforted me just as much as I comforted him. My message to you is to take advantage of the “moments” in your life. No matter how insignificant they may feel, you may later realize how big their impact is.
