Jumping in with Both Feet

With the start of this blog I have decided jumping in with both feet is my best approach. Sometimes it is necessary to take a chance even if it feels little bit scary. I actually am really excited about getting into the blogging world. I have always enjoyed writing and this is the perfect place for me to do just that.

Where else can a person write about how they are feeling, while sharing important information with other people? It is a win-win. I get to step outside my comfort zone by making myself a bit more vulnerable. I also get to expand my readers’ knowledge about mental health.

Jumping in with both feet is a great analogy to my life as a child when I lived near the ocean and the only way to get into the frigid water was to jump right in.

My mother often wondered how my sister and I could splash in the waves and play at the water’s edge for so long in such cold water. I guess for us it was the sheer joy of feeling the water around us, smelling the salt in the air, and hearing the screech of the sea gulls. Nothing else mattered, even when our teeth were chattering and our legs had gone numb:) So, writing a blog that lets me try something new while at the same time letting me do something I enjoy (writing) is very similar to my early experiences of exploring the seashore.

The beach is my happy place. I intend to make this blog site a second happy place. I hope that it will also become a happy place that others will want to visit frequently. I hope you will join me on this journey!
