As we are on the verge of beginning a new week, I urge you to go forth with new focus and curiosity. So many of us lose focus on what is really important because we are so busy meeting the next deadline. My calendar is bursting at the seams as we hit week 3 of the fall semester. I really am trying not to let it make me feel overwhelmed. So, my focus this week is to do a cursory review of all the things I have going on each day. I will decide if there is anything that can wait, if so I will move that item to next week.
I chose the photo above for two reasons 1) I like the quote and 2) I have begun bullet journaling and am practicing hand-lettering. I have a long way to go until I am satisfied with how it looks. But, I am trying to give myself grace, remembering that everything takes time. One thing this type of journaling allows me to do is practice with my artistic side. It also focuses all the thoughts whirling in my head, into neat and organized spaces. I even have a page to log the books I want to read for the next six months (in monthly blocks). This will be the first full week of using the journal. I am excited to try some new design pages.
So, for this new week, I challenge you to a new focus. Be curious about the world around you. Look at the small details. Smile at a stranger. Give a compliment. Try something new. Let me know how it goes. I would love to hear about your experiences.
